Conformation Classes at WoofBeach Cove involves training dogs to show their attributes in a dog show ring as part of competing for points. Although it might appear relatively easy to show a dog, it does take some time and practice to learn the routines. The class instructor teaches you and your pup precisely what will be expected of you in the show ring. For example, you’ll learn to “stack” (which is the term for pose) your dog in order to show the judges his or her teeth.

Conformation is actually just another term to describe a dog show. Even though dog shows might at first seem to be all about how the dogs look, that is a misconception. The judges are not comparing the dogs to one another. Rather, they are measuring how close each dog conforms to the standards of their specific breed.
